Status update April 2023

We are pleased to announce that Andrew has been gifted a Kidney Transplant and we are so grateful and humbled by the person and family that has provided this precious gift. Andrew has recovered and is doing very well and his Team of Doctors couldn’t be more pleased with his recovery.

Andrew is only 50 years young. He is a father, grandpa, son, brother, uncle and a friend. It is impossible to put into words just how incredible Andrew is. Even on days that are difficult for him, he’ll ask you, “How are you, and how can I help?”. Andrew will give his last dime and be there in the blink of an eye when someone is in need.

Andrew has been a type 1 diabetic since he was 5 years old. He has lost all but 15% of his vision in one eye due to the disease. This alone has been very difficult but this last year has proven to be even more challenging. Last July, Andrew was diagnosed with Covid-19. This caused kidney failure and this left Andrew hospitalized. Once released, he remained under close care of a wonderful medical care team until January 1st, 2022 when Andrew suffered a heart attack. Due to the strain on his body, he was forced to start dialysis. The following day he had a seven bypass open heart surgery to clear the blockages in his heart. Andrew has now been cleared to receive a kidney transplant, which his doctors tell us he needs as soon as possible. Andrew is so young and has so much life to live and love to give. Please be our hero and be screened to be his kidney donor today!
